Healthcare
The North Carolina Correctional Association was established in August 1979 as the North Carolina Chapter of the American Correctional Association. In 1983, the Chapter became the North Carolina Correctional Association (NCCA) and was organized into seven regional subdivisions to better serve the membership at the local level. In 2010, the Healthcare Professionals became a part of the NC Correctional Association that created the 8th region.
The objective of the North Carolina Correctional Association Healthcare Professionals are to exert a positive influence on the shaping of State and National Correctional healthcare policies and issues. The North Carolina Correctional Association Healthcare Professionals also promote the professional development of individuals working in a healthcare aspect of corrections as well as to enhance inter-agency understanding among other correctional agencies and disciplines.
The leadership is comprised of Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian and Executive Board.
